of Bruno, SKÂ passed away at Cudworth Nursing Home, on Thursday August 4, 2006.Â She was 54 years of age.Â Elizabeth was born to William and Anna Thornton (nee McBride) on January 7, 1952, in Terrace, British Columbia.Â She attended school in Terrace B.C. until the eleventh grade, then finished high school in North Vancouver at Hansworth Senior Secondary High School in 1969.
After graduating, she worked at Praise Records, before moving to Prince Rupert and taking a position at B.C. Hydro.Â This is where Elizabeth met David Leuschen, who was stationed with the R.C.M.P.Â Together they moved to Ocean Falls, B.C. and then Surrey,Â B.C.Â On July 5, 1975,
Elizabeth and David where married at a regimental wedding in Bruno, SK.Â Until 1981, they lived in Surrey B.C., they then moved back to Bruno, SK, to make their home on the farm and raise their family.
Elizabeth always loved to sew, knit, and cook.Â Gardening and taking care of her yard was also a favorite past time.Â She loved traveling and her “warm winter holidays”.
Elizabeth was blessed with three grandchildren and cherished the time she spent with them.Â Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband of 31 years, David
Leuschen of Bruno; their three children: Jason (Genevieve) Leuschen of Ottawa; Amber (Ryan) Biemans and family Grace Elizabeth and Jack David of Humboldt; Trevor
(Michelle) Leuschen and family Audrey Madison of Cudworth; and Elizabeth’s mother Anna Thornton (nee
McBride) of Prince Rupert.Â
She was predeceased by her father, William Thornton.Â The Prayer Service for Elizabeth was held on Monday,
August 7, 2006, at 7:30 p.m.Â The Funeral Mass was offered on Tuesday, August 8, 2006, at 10:00 a.m., led by Fr. Joseph Ackerman, OSB, both services took place at St. Bruno R.C. Church, Bruno SK.
Memorial donations may be directed to either the Cudworth Nursing Home Pallative Care Center or St Bruno R.C. Church fund.
