In loving memory ~

It is with great sadness we had to say good-bye to our beloved mom and grandmother, Dorine (Doreen) Paulson.

Mom passed away peacefully on March 14, 2025 in Terrace Kysen Hospital at the age of 89.

Doreen was born in Burns Lake, BC to Henry and Gladys Bonner. After her family moved around from small towns like Giscome, Tintagel, and McBride, they eventually landed in Terrace when she, and her sister Marjorie, were very young. Upon completing school Doreen met her future husband, Carl, and they raised five active children. She was a loving matriarch and cornerstone of her family. Doreen was predeceased by her husband, Carl Paulson; son, Larry Paulson; sister, Marjorie McDonald; grandson, Terry Wentzell, and granddaughter, Christine Pastershank. Doreen is survived by her children, Lynda Wentzell (Murray), Gary Paulson (Lois), Greg Paulson (Brenda), and Darrel Paulson (Kim), as well as her cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who she adored deeply.

A gifted cook, Doreen was known for her culinary skills and loved sharing her treasured recipes with family and friends. She had a long and dedicated career, starting work at Safeway when it first opened in Terrace until she retired 27 years later. Doreen was also an active member of the Order of the Royal Purple in her younger years. Above all, Doreen will be remembered for her unwavering love and support for her family.

Our family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to Northern Health in-home care aides Grace, Liza and Sharon. Also, much love to Jen Daumont and Diane Cudmore who were extra special to her. Finally, we wish to express our deep gratitude to the staff at Kysen Hospital, particularly Dr. Kyle McIver and Nurse Kirby, for their compassionate care and support during her final days. Doreen requested there be no service, and in lieu of flowers, donations be made to a charity of your choice.
