Oct. 2, 1944 - July 11, 2003
A celebration of Don’s life was held July 17, 2003 at his home in Thornhill, officiated by Tom Harris.
The eulogy was read by Lynette Phillips (sister-in-law). Many stories were told and shared by numerous friends and family.
Don and Sharon were married in 1964 here in Terrace and soon after started their family. Jennifer (Darin), Harold (Danielle) and Suzette (Edward). Their first grandchild Kristen arrived in 1984 and for the next 18 years five more grandchildren arrived Tyler, Lee, Garrett, Jordyn and Jared.
Don took on many responsibilities throughout his life helping friends, family members giving of his time and on few occasions saving lives. Don expected nothing in return. Whatever hobby, task or jobs he took on, the finished project had to be perfect. Don was a very gentle, likable, lovable and proud man. He has touched many lives and was respected by all that knew him. He always brought a smile to your face. We will miss Don’s burly looks, whistling tunes, his dignified manner and most of all his generosity.
We loved him deeply and feel we have lost a wonderful husband, father and friend. Till we meet again.
There are no words to express my gratitude and thanks to so many people that has supported our family through the terrible loss of our loved one.
