Ingles, Diane (Kennedy)

1928 - 2010

September 30th, 2010 at Abbotsford Regional Hospital.

Diane is survived and sadly missed by her two loving daughters Donna Masse-Cieszecki (Dave Cieszecki)and Laurie Batke (Keith Alexander), grandchildren Cassandra Morgan (Greg), Bradley Masse, Delaina Mac-Donald (Jason),Trevor Cieszecki, Jaime Cieszecki, and Kelly Cieszecki, great-grandchildren Brooklyn Morgan and Connor MacDonald, sister Helen (Smith) Hosie, sister in law Irene Kennedy, and many nephews and nieces.

Diane was predeceased by her parents Tom and Marjorie Kennedy, husband Bill Ingles, brother Gordon Kennedy, and nephew Kirk Smith. Diane is now with the love of her life and husband Bill Ingles who passed away 15 years ago. Mom and Dad are finally dancing and drinking that

long awaited beer together. Mom battled heart disease for 30 years and to the surprise of many doctors, beat the

odds and came back from the brink of death more times than one should endure. Her tenacity along with her red hair temperament helped her to stay with us as long as she could. Mom was born on December 12, 1928 in Vancouver, BC and went to King Edward High School where

she met Dad. The handsome football quarterback and the beautiful bright red-head fell in love immediately. They

were married in September 1949. Diane had a very successful career with the Royal Bank which began after her high school graduation in 1947. A move to Terrace in 1962 with two young daughters Donna and Laurie in tow, saw Dad set up the Dairyland distribution centre while Mom went to work for the Royal Bank. Diane was also active in the Hospital Auxiliary, Candy Stripers, Brownies, Legion, and the Rotary-Anns. Mom continued to work full-time in Terrace for the bank, reaching the status of a deposit officer and loved working with all the staff, managers and customers over the years, until 1984 when her health became too compromised to continue working. Of special note, Harry and the late Binnie Rogers were amazing

friends and second parents to Donna and Laurie. Staying at their cabin at Lakelse Lake was the family’s favorite pastime. Mom and Dad had a never ending supply of special “Black Label” fish in the creek beside the cabin. Eventually

Mom and Dad retired to Abbotsford in 1988. The family would like to thank all the Doctors and Nurses who have cared for Diane over the years. Thanks to Dr. Fluit and the kind nurses in the ACE unit at Abbotsford Hospital who helped Mom and our family through her last days. Special thanks to Dr. Maung whose kindness and expertise saw her through many operations. In lieu of flowers a donation to the Heart & Stroke Foundation in Diane’s name would be greatly appreciated. A celebration of Life will be held on Friday, October 8th, 2010 at 4:00pm at Crown Point

Villa in the amenity building, located at 3292 Vernon- Terrace St., Abbotsford. Tributes and condolences may be
