Dennis Bernard Palmu passed away suddenly on July 16, 2020 in Terrace, BC.
Dennis was born in Vancouver, BC on August 15, 1950 to Fred and Mamie Palmu. He graduated from BCIT in 1971 and moved to Terrace to start his first job at Omenica Building Supply. He met Ingrid Kumpolt and they married in 1972. He went on to work at Irly Bird Building Supplies, H&H Builders, and then as a contractor involved in numerous construction projects in the northwest.
He also had many interests outside of work that he was able to pursue more in the past fifteen years. In addition to writing songs, poems, and articles, he published two books that were the culmination of countless hours of research on British history, American politics, and the King James Bible.
Dennis was known by family, friends, and the many people he worked with in the community for his kindness and generosity. He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Ingrid; children, Jackie Mathers (James), Angela Armstrong (Gord), and Kevin (Shelby O'Brien); grandchildren, Alexi, Zoe, David, Alejandro, Aejah, and Lylah; brother, Brian (Verna Chan) as well as extended family. He was predeceased by his father, Fred; mother, Mamie; and brother, Stephen.
A private service was held on July 22, 2020.
