Deby Jean Spencer

Deby Jean Spencer

July 8, 1958 – March 12, 2011

Deby passed away peacefully on the morning of March 12 with her husband, Robert by her side.

Deby was born in Dawson Creek to her parents, Esther and Stan West, who travelled a lot in B.C. and Alberta working for Peter Kiewt & Sons Construction. In 1975 they moved to Terrace to do a highway project.

Deby met Robert when she was going to school here and they were married July 8, 1977 after which they moved to the Nass Valley. They built a home there and raised their 2 children Mike and Lindsay. Later when they moved back to Terrace – Deby earned her home care support work certificate with her good friend Chantel Healie. She enjoyed her work with her clients and staff so much but after a year she was forced to give it up as she was having major health problems herself, but she was a do-er and didn’t give to complaining.

The joy of her life were her grandchildren Madison and Kaleb. Deby was predeceased by her mother and father and her brother Rick.

Deby is survived by her sister Jo-Ann in Prince George and her immediate family, husband Robert of 34 years, son Micheal (Allison) Kaleb, daughter Lindsay (Carson) Madison, Summer.

We would especially like to thank the following: her good friend Chantel, Dr. Mooliman and his staff Angie & Clara for the great care Deby received. Also to the home care nurses Baxter, Jody & Brenda during some very rough times. To the Paramedics and ICU staff at our wonderful hospital, we are so lucky to have. We would also like to thank sister Bea for all the support over the years.

Deby requested that there be no service, but her ashes will be placed at the Nass that she loved and called her home. Time to be announced later.

The family would like to thank all the family and friends who called, sent their support, sent food and good wishes during this difficult time. Deby will be missed by all that knew her.

Rest in Peace Deby

Robert, Micheal, Lindsay
