Clarence Wayne Brown

July 11, 2005

February 9, 1951 to July 11, 2005

Wayne went to meet our Lord on July 11, 2005, unexpectedly in Terrace.

He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Louise (nee Praught). children: David (wife Kristi), of Terrace, B.C. Mark (wife Jennifer) of Saint John, NB. Adam (wife Charlene) of Terrace, B.C., Andrew of Seoul, South Korea, Jenny (husband Shane) of Terrace, B.C. and Scott Gallant of Terrace, B.C.

Wayne was a proud grandfather of 11 beautiful grandchildren, who lovingly called him “Grumpy”: Oldest Caitlin, Stephanie, Gena-Marie, Aaron, Dakota, Jarred, Mikaela, Sierra, Joshua, Annabelle, and Joel.

Wayne was the fifth of nine children born in Hampton, NB, born to Gordon and Mable Brown. Both have passed before him. Sisters: Gloria Hayward (Russell Bartlett) of Sussex, NB, Barbara Odell (Harvey) of Lacombe, AB., Mary Cullem (Carl) of Quesnel, B.C., Susan Coleman of Bloomfield, NB. Cindy Gray (Bill) of Saint John, NB. Brothers: Ivan Brown (Luwina) of Rothessay NB, Stuart Brown of Quesnel, B.C. and Bruce Brown of Saint John, NB.

Wayne’s career took him and his family from coast to coast. A longtime chef at the finest hotels in New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and as well as British Columbia, he also worked for the highways here in Terrace for many years.

Wayne has dedicated the last 14 years as a very respected head chef at the Northern Motor Inn. He was loved dearly and respected by all coworkers and staff.

Wayne’s happiest days were spent with the love of his life, his wife Louise and his children and grandchildren. Those days were spent camping, fishing and telling wild tales to his mesmerized grandchildren, who would scream “Tell us more, Grumpy!”

Wayne was a larger than life personality with a wild tale to tell to anyone willing to listen. Wayne did nothing half-assed and put his whole heart into whatever he was doing, a truly passionate man. With a mischievious smile and twinkling eyes he will be remembered with wonderful memories, deep love and respect.

He will be sadly missed by all who came into contact with this incredible man.

We were all truly blessed to have had him in our lives.

Daddy, you will always be our #1.
