Cecil C. Pratt Esq.
December 14, 1915 - June 23, 2009
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved father.
Cecil Clarence Pratt was born in Vancouver, B.C. on December 14, 1915, one of eleven children to Margherita (nee Wallingford) and Fredrick Clarence Delville-Pratt.
Cecil spent his early years in Vancouver. As a young man he worked in the Pulp mill in Port Alice, B.C.
Cecil served in the Royal Canadian Air Force from 1940 - 1946, attaining the rank of Corporal at Angus, Ontario.
After graduating with a Law Degree from U.B.C. in 1952, Cecil married Zella M. E. Collins.
Cecil and Zella lived in Oregon and Washington for several years where he was an insurance adjuster. They moved to Terrace in 1957, where, after a brief partnership with a veteran friend, Cecil established his own law practice. Cecil ran his own Law firm in Terrace, primarily as a defense attorney, until his retirement in 1994.
A lover of great literature, music, philosophy, stimulating conversation and sports. He especially enjoyed baseball and
basketball.
He felt a deep appreciation for nature and all its creatures.
Cecil will be forever in our hearts, remembered as a kind and caring man and loving father.
Cecil will always be loved and remembered by his wife Zella and daughters Ellen-Ann and Sylvia Rose, sister Eilleen Glasheen, and brothers Montague and Gerald.
A memorial service to celebrate Cecil’s life
