Betty Reilton GARE
August 18, 1924 – July 26, 2007
Betty passed away peacefully on July 26, 2007 at Mills Memorial Hospital in Terrace, B.C. Betty was born in Gleichen, Alberta and grew up and received her education in Rocky Mountain House, Alberta. Betty and family had moved to Terrace in 1965 after living in Nelson, B.C. She had retired from working for Time Cleaners in 1987 and was a long serving member of the Royal Canadian Legions’ Ladies Auxiliaries in Rocky Mountain House and Terrace.
Betty is survived by her two sisters Nita Boos of Calgary and Elma Ferguson of Calgary; daughter Judy Knott (Corey) of Terrace, son Don of Sechelt; grandchildren Terrie Aantjes (Marty) of New Westminster, Corina Cleveland (Mark) of
Terrace, Audra Turner of Kelowna and Keiron Sterner (Kathy) of Edmonton. Also, survived by great-grandchildren
Alyson Aantjes, Elysium Cleveland,Brittany and Kolton Turner, and Lilly, Tryston and Lucas Sterner as well as nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by her husband Jack in 1970 and her son John in 1972. Betty will be greatly missed by her family and frinds. Special thanks to Dr. Burilowski and the palliative nursing staff at Mills Memorial Hospital for their compassionate care given to Betty. Betty was cremated at MacKay’s Funeral Home and will be interred with her late husband in Terrace.
There will be a celebration of Betty’s life at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 13 in Terrace, on Saturday, September 15 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m.
