Bernadette Marie “Bernie”
passed away at Bastion Place, Salmon Arm, BC on Saturday, November 27, 2010 at the age of 91 years.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Salmon Arm on Saturday, December 4th at 10:00 am, with Father George LaGrange OMI, celebrant.
Bernie was born on August 29, 1919 in Zenon Park, Saskatchewan. She lived in Terrace for many years where she and her family operated a motel with a restaurant. She was known for her great apple pies and being a hard worker. Bernie then moved to Vernon and later to Salmon Arm to be closer to family. She was an avid bridge player and loved gardening.
Bernie will be lovingly remembered by her children, Dolores of Williams Lake, Marie Elaine of New Westminster, Vivian (Louie) of Thorhill, AB, Darlene (Claude) of Quesnel, Jackie (Bob) of Salmon Arm, Patsy (Tom) of Tappen and Rick of Terrace; 12 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Leon and two sons, Felix and Raymond.
The family would like to thank the staff at Bastion place for the care of mom.
