July 22, 1919 - November 25, 2018
With great sadness, we announce the passing of our Dad, Grandfather, Great Grandfather, friend.

"Bompi" was born in Leuven, Belgium in 1919. He joined the Belgian army in 1937 and consequently spent five years as a POW in northern Germany. He was forever grateful for the many true acts of kindness shown to him during these difficult times. It was this positive side of humanity that strongly shaped his world view.

Albert met Estella Lootens-a nurse-and they married in 1948. They came to Canada in 1975, and to Terrace in 1995. Among Albert's greatest loves were art, nature, and

soccer.

Albert was predeceased by his wife, Estella, in November 2008. He is survived by his son, Jose; grandchildren: Johan, Amanita, Ayesha, Allen and Jennifer; great grandchildren: Raven, Autumn, Rowan, Sophie and Jakob. His smile, grace, and wisdom will be missed by his many friends and extended family.

A very special thank you to the many doctors, nurses and housekeeping staff at Mills Memorial Hospital, who made Albert's friends and family welcome and who made him comfortable and happy during his last weeks.

We would like to collect any stories of Albert that you care to share: Please email to rememberangealbert@gmail.com. A celebration of Albert's life will be held on Thursday, January 3rd at 5pm, at the Terrace Christian Reformed Church (3602 Sparks Street).
