June 29, 1968 – April 21, 2021
It’s not how long, but how well you lived your life that counts!
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of my husband Andy Ramsay. He sadly passed away at our home, surrounded by his family after a long and challenging battle with cancer which he fought to the very end.
Andy leaves behind his loving wife Ave, his little daughter Adalyne and his caring mother Irene.
Since he was a young boy, Andy was a very determined character, if he set his mind to do something, he would do it! Andy was the nicest guy and had a special place in so many people’s heart. When you earned his trust, he was a true and loyal friend, generous and outgoing person who was always pleasant to talk with. Whenever you needed him, he was there without hesitation.
Andy was born in England and grew up in Scotland. He was a Fire Rescue Officer and Trauma Paramedic in central London UK. for over 15 years, helping people and saving so many lives.
For his 18th birthday his parents took him to a local Airfield and paid for him to have a flying lesson. After the first flight the instructor said he was a Natural Pilot. In 2007 Andy moved to Canada.
He was ambitious and had the get up and go to be a first-class Air Ambulance pilot. He exceeded himself and will ever be remembered as a man that fulfilled his dreams and ambitions.
As a passionate pilot Andy worked so hard and ended up as a VFR and an IFR pilot. His last job was as the Terrace Base Manager for Summit Helicopter where he was qualified to fly all the aircrafts they were operating, while giving outstanding customer service. Andy is also the man who started the Cooperative Helicopter Air Ambulance service operated by Summit Helicopters based from Terrace, BC.
Andy loved his home here in Terrace and enjoyed spending time with his family. He was a hands-on dad, loving and caring husband who would do anything for his family and a happy life. He loved sailing, motorbike trips and traveling, friends and good times. Andy enjoyed his life and never wanted to leave!
Family would like to thank all the doctors and health care workers who did their best to extend Andy’s life and for the great care and support they provided to Andy and us.
A private celebration of life in Andy’s memory will be held at a later date. You are invited to leave a personal message of condolence at email: firstname.lastname@example.org
