In loving memory ~

In loving memory of our wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Allison passed peacefully, with her family by her side, on September 2, 2024, at Mills Memorial Hospital.

Allison was "small but mighty", battling leukemia for 31 years, and more recently kidney dialysis for 7 years. Despite her health challenges, Allison always had a smile on her face and never complained. She treated every day as a gift from God and loved spending time with her family and many close friends, always having a listening ear and plate of goodies at the ready.

She was born in Wembley, England and enjoyed many happy summers with her family in Scotland as a youth. She then began her ten year career as a surgical secretary at Central Middlesex Hospital. Graham and Allison met in 1964, married in 1968 and shared a passion for kayaking the Thames and camping at every opportunity. Looking for adventure, they emigrated to Terrace, Canada in 1973 where Allison continued her medical secretarial work, and they managed their accounting and business management company for 45 years together.

In later years, Allison and Graham spent many happy hours gardening and enjoyed holidays on their sailboat in Sidney, crossing the Georgia Strait and exploring the San Juan Islands many times. Above all, Allison cherished and loved all of her grandchildren and was happiest kayaking across the lake to the family cabin, being surrounded by her family and sitting by a campfire. Allison was a gift to everyone who knew her and we will be forever grateful to have had her in our lives.

Allison was predeceased by her parents Alistair and Ellen Mary MacDonald. She leaves behind her loving spouse of 56 years Graham, son Stuart (Lyne), daughter Kirsty (Chad) and her beloved grandchildren Gavin, Sarah, Sophia, Luke and Jake. She also leaves behind her siblings Elizabeth Williamson and Margaret MacLeod, niece and nephews, and many dear relatives.

The family especially wish to thank Dr. Fourie and Dr. DeBruin for their many decades of support and care of Allison, as well as the wonderful nursing staff in the Dialysis and Oncology Units for their exceptional care and kindness.

A private burial service will be followed by a public service of remembrance at the Terrace Christian Reform Church September 21, 2024, at 1:30 pm. The service can also be viewed at
