is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our father, Alessandro 'Alex' Carpino.
Alex was born in Paterno, Calabria in Italy to 11 brothers and sisters. Alex left his family at a young age to work in Switzerland as a chef and came to Canada and married Maria in 1966.
After 50 years of marriage, Alex was understandably devastated by the lost of his wife but continued to do the things alone they once enjoyed together, caring for their farm, making Italian foods and spending time with family. Alex was also predeceased by his son George in 1981.
Throughout all of Alex's deteriorating health, he remained positive and rarely complained. He will greatly be missed by those that knew him and was a true character. Alex leaves behind his three children Anita (Jason), Gino (shelly) and Lisa (David) and many grandchildren.
The family extend their appreciation and thanks to those that helped care for Alex and enabled him to pass in his home (Dr. Moony, home care nurses and the hemodialysis team).
