November 15, 1940 - March 2, 2020
Our Dad was born in Amsterdam, Holland and immigrated to Canada with his parents and three brothers when he was 11 years of age. He met our beautiful mother, Sandy while both were in Canadian Air Force. They married April 17, 1961 and moved out to BC shortly afterwards.
Dad was an exceptional musician and singer playing in band most of his life. His passion for music was undeniable. He was able to take up any instrument and begin to play it by ear. Music was definitely a form of therapy for him. When he came home after a hard days work he often would grab his acoustic guitar and burst into song calming his mind and soul escaping everyday pressures.
To say he was competitive was a bit of an understatement. He looked forward to his weekly poker games with friends and enjoyed playing various card and board games. He never hesitated to point out when one played wrong as that was his way to help you improve your skills.
The last few years Dad lived at Terraceview Lodge where he was the "life of the party". Keeping the amazing staff and residents entertained with his humour, laughter, stories of love for his wife (Rosebud) and his great one liners. "I'm hot stuff baby," being one of his favourites.
He will be greatly missed by all whose lives he touched especially his family.
Sandy, the love of his life, children Dawn, Jamie (Vicki), Cindy (Terry) and Brenda (Greg), brothers, Ron and Ray and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great granddaughter.
in memory of our Dad remember to enjoy life, laugh out loud and cherish the ones you love.
At Dad's request, no services will be held.
