Update: Power has now been restored for over 400 BC Hydro customers along Kalum Lake Rd. to Rosswood and in a handful of other locations around Terrace after a winter storm caused trees to fall across electrical wires. Original story remains below.

Power is down for around 400 BC Hydro customers north of Terrace.

The outage stretches from Halliwell Ave. up Kalum Lake Rd. to Rosswood.

The power went down around 1:50 p.m. due to a tree falling across wires, according to BC Hydro’s website. A repair crew is on site and repairs should be completed around 4:30 p.m.

Power is still on for most of Terrace, though it has flickered several times at the Terrace Standard office.

The outage comes as Terrace is being walloped by a winter storm with heavy snowfall and high winds.
