Terrace Search and Rescue headquarters on the corner of Greig Ave. and Clinton St. will be a state of the art facility when finished.

The group has started moving equipment into the building’s 6,000 square foot ground floor which will consist of truck bays, a mechanical room, electrical room, radio room, two bathrooms, a training area, briefing area, gear rooms and other storage.

The area room upstairs is just under 2,000 square feet and will be able to accommodate 60 people viewing a presentation, plus couches and chairs for relaxing or for breakout sessions during a large class. There is also space for a kitchen and bathrooms.

Dave Jephson, Terrace Search and Rescue vice president, said there is still much to do before the building is complete. In addition to private donations, a number of companies have done work and charged only for materials, and Jephson said the ground floor is operational today thanks to businesses that have done work to be paid later.
