THE TERRACE RCMP have responded to approximately 108 calls for service from February 8, 8 a.m. till February 12, 8 a.m. During the same time period, there were 26 people lodged in Terrace Cells. Of these people 18 were lodged for public intoxication.
Here are some of the calls responded to:
Theft of approximately $1,500 worth of electronics from an office of an employee at the Northwest Community College. An IPod, IPad, keyboard, laptop bag with contents, and assorted power cables and adaptors were stolen on February 8 between 2:30 p.m. and 4 p.m.
Intoxicated man causing a disturbance at the Northern Motor Inn. A taxi picked the man up. Police pulled the taxi over to check the man. He was in breach of conditions on a file out of Alberta. The 34-year-old man was arrested for breach and held for judicial process.
A blue 2012 Dodge Ram in the ditch on Hwy 16 20 km east of Terrace. The 34-year-old driver failed a roadside screening device. He was issued an Immediate Roadside Suspension and the vehicle he was driving was impounded. An amount of drugs and drug paraphernalia were also seized. There was no damage to the truck.
Police pulled over a blue 2004 Ford Freestar on Keith Ave at Molitor St. when it was observed committing numerous vehicle infractions. The 30-year-old driver failed a roadside screening device. He was issued an Immediate Roadside Suspension and the vehicle he was driving was towed.
Break and enter to the Brick on Keith Ave. on February 9 at 4 a.m. A 60-inch Samsung LED TV was stolen.
A red 2001 Chrysler slid into the ditch and under a residence on Queensway Dr. The 35-year-old driver failed a roadside screening device. He was given an Immediate Roadside Suspension and the vehicle he was driving was impounded. He had a false licence plate on the vehicle.
An intoxicated 39-year-old man attended to the Terrace Cells to serve a weekend incarceration sentence. His conditions stipulate that he must present himself in a sober state. This is the second time the man has breached his conditions by showing up intoxicated. Charges are being forwarded to Crown Counsel.
Intoxicated 16-year-old girl at a residence on Haugland Ave. Police spoke with the people inside of the residence. A 25-year-old man was arrested for breaching a no consume alcohol condition.
Break and enter to the Terrace Public Library on February 11 at 3:30 a.m.
A green 1998 Subaru struck a light pole at Clark St./Hwy 16 East. The 33-year-old driver was transported to Mills Memorial Hospital for assessment. A 42-year-old passenger was located a short distance away and arrested for possession for the purpose of trafficking drugs.
