Two people, a male and female, are in custody after the police raided two different addresses in Thornhill on March 29.

The arrests were made by the Terrace RCMP when they executed search warrants issued for an active investigation into drugs, firearms and stolen property.

The male suspect has been charged with possession of a firearm contrary to order, and further consideration is being given to additional charges which may be laid in the days ahead for both suspects, the RCMP said in a statement.

At the time of the searches, a third individual was present in one of the residences and found to have an outstanding warrant. He was arrested on that warrant and dealt with separately.

The police also seized large amounts of cash, stolen property and suspected drugs and firearms during this operation.

Members of the public who have had power tools stolen recently, and believe they can provide descriptions with distinguishing features, can contact Constable Bay of the Terrace RCMP at 250-638-7400 to discuss the matter.
