Two girls attempt to set police car on fire

This came after allegedly assaulting their guardians and then they allegedly assaulted Terrace RCMP too.

The Terrace RCMP have responded to approximately 26 calls for service from February 5, 8 a.m. till February 6, 8 a.m. During the same time period, there were seven people lodged in Terrace Cells. Four of these people were lodged for public intoxication.

Downtown Terrace

drunks breaking bottles on Emerson St./Lazelle Ave.

harassment complaint. Police spoke with the people involved.

during patrol police observed a man staggering back and forth on Lakelse Ave./Emerson St. Police arrested a 23-year-old man for public intoxication.

man passed out on Greig Ave. at the Best Western Inn. Police requested the assistance of BC Ambulance who assessed the man. The 29-year-old man was arrested for public intoxication.

during patrol, police observed an unconscious man in the bus shelter. The 60-year-old man was arrested for public intoxication.

Elsewhere Terrace

an employer was concerned about an employee who hasn't shown up for work in a week. Police conducted numerous checks to no avail. Police gained access into the suite and found the man alive and well with headphones on and no minutes left on his phone.

12-year-old girl refusing to leave Skeena Middle School when asked to do so. Police attended and directed the girl to leave. She returned a short time later and began to burn papers in front of the school. Police arrested the girl for mischief. Police consulted with Crown Counsel on the circumstances surrounded this case. The girl was turned over to the care of a guardian with no charges being forwarded to Crown Counsel.

man passed out on the bench inside of the Medical Building on Park Ave.

intoxicated familial dispute. Police arrested the 18-year-old man for public intoxication.

false 911 call from the Medical Building on Park Ave.

a third party complaint of inappropriate comments being made. Police involvement was not wanted.

suicidal man destroying things inside of a residence then fled carrying scissors. Police located the man and after a short foot pursuit apprehended the 20-year-old under the Mental Health Act.

14-year-old girl in breach of curfew condition. Checks were done.

assist Victoria PD with a warrant.

a white truck with a tidy tank hit garbage cans at the edge of a property on Soucie Ave. Checks were done of the area. The garbage cans were not damaged.

man passed out on Kerby Ave. Police spoke with the 43-year-old man who was relatively sober and advised him to go to the shelter.

Thornhill

BC Ambulance requested police assistance with a distressed baby, then cancelled prior to police attendance.

harassing emails from an ex employee to employer. Police spoke with the people involved.

two girls, ages 12 and 13-years-old, assaulted their guardians and threatened to burn the house down. The girls then fled. Police located the girls on Old Lakelse Lake Dr. and arrested them for assault. The girls then attempted to light the back of the police car on fire. Police stopped to deal with the situation and the 12-year-old girl punched a police officer in the face. The girls are held for court. Charges of assault, assault peace officer, assault with a weapon, and uttering threats are being recommended by police. Police have had seven calls in nine days concerning the 12-year-old girl.

a suspicious truck coming and going to a business on Clark St. It was determined it was the business owner's truck.

Rural

a woman dumped cat litter and feces onto her neighbor's property.

police assisting the Fisheries and Oceans with charges being forwarded on men that were stopped in a silver Ford F150 truck with an Alberta licence plate on September 9, 2012 at an inter-agency roadblock.

motor vehicle incident on Hwy 16 near the slide area. No injuries.
