Terrace Search & Rescue conduct operation to help RCMP investigate missing person

The search for missing person Logan Sindia continues with Terrace Search and Rescue (SAR) called in to conduct a sweep of an area near the airport which was his last known location on March 9.

A search operation was organized on April 3 after the Terrace RCMP contacted them, said Dave Jephson vice president of the Terrace SAR. The search began at 8 a.m. ended around 5 p.m.

“We did not find the missing person,” said Jephson, adding, the SAR is always willing to help the police whenever required.

Terrace RCMP issued an alert on March 18 and asked for public assistance in locating Sindia who was last seen near the rural area south of Terrace.

Based on the police’s description, Sindia is a 22-year-old, Caucasian male, 183 centimetres tall, weighing 85 kilograms, with brown hair and blue eyes.

The search saw 33 people, which included members from the Kitimat and Prince Rupert SAR as well as local residents from the community, split in to groups and comb a wide areas near the Northwest Regional Airport including Hwy 37, Jackpine and Thornhill. Sindia’s family members also participated in the search.

The RCMP said they did not have an update about the investigation at this point but the search for Sindia continues.

Meanwhile the police is asking anyone with information about Sindia, or where he might be, to contact the Terrace RCMP at 250-638-7400 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
