Terrace Royal Canadian Legion Branch 13 hosts 2021 Remembrance Day

Government representatives joined veterans to lay wreaths at the cenotaph

Terrace hosted its 2021 Remembrance Day outside city hall where an area in front of the cenotaph was roped off to accommodate only participants of the ceremony.

Members of the public gathered near the cenotaph to watch the ceremony, which was hosted by the Terrace Royal Canadian Legion Branch 13 on Thursday morning (Nov. 11).

Agnes Taylor, president of the Terrace Royal Canadian Legion Branch 13 gave the introductory speech. Government officials joined veterans and members of the RCMP and Terrace Fire Department laying wreaths at the cenotaph.

Skeena — Bulkley Valley MP Taylor Bachrach laid the first wreath on behalf of the Government of Canada. Skeena BC Liberal MLA Ellis Ross’ representative Gina Versteege laid out the wreath on behalf of the province of B.C. and Terrace’s Mayor Carol Leclerc presented did so on the city’s behalf.
