Police are looking for witnesses to a stabbing that occurred over the weekend in Terrace. RCMP received a report at around 4:30 am on Sunday (May 22) of a man bleeding heavily after sustaining multiple stab wounds.

The victim was in critical condition but is expected to recover from his injuries after medical attention.

The man had been sleeping in an alcove of a vacant building on the 3200 block of Kalum Street when suspects assaulted him. Police believe there may have been two suspects associated to a grey SUV that left the scene in an unknown direction.

This incident is believed to have been targeted and not a random act of violence. Police believe that the public is not at risk in relation to this event. Police are asking for anyone with information about this incident, or surveillance cameras in the area, to contact the Terrace detachment at 250-638-7400 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
