Terrace RCMP say death of Kamloops man in Thornhill non-suspicious

Blaine Frisk was found unresponsive by the side of the road, died hours later

Terrace RCMP have ruled out foul play in the death of a Kamloops man on Sunday, November 10, at the side of a Thornhill road.

Terrace RCMP spokesperson Cst. Crystal Evelyn said police were dispatched to investigate a report of a man in the roadway on Thornhill Frontage Road, which runs parallel to Hwy 16, at about 5:00 a.m.

Officers found an unresponsive Blaine Frisk lying at the side of the road. He was rushed to the hospital but died a few hours later.

Based on post-mortem testing results, combined with a police investigation, the RCMP found Frisk’s death to be ‘non-suspicious.’ The BC Coroners Service is continuing its work to determine the cause of death.

Hours earlier before Frisk was found, around 1:45 a.m., police received a call of an intoxicated person walking along Hwy 16 E. They were unable to locate the man, who Evelyn said police identified as Frisk.

Evelyn thanked the public for its assistance in this investigation after requesting for drivers to come forward with information or dash-cam footage from that morning.

The Terrace Standard has reached out to Terrace RCMP for more information.
