The Terrace RCMP responded to approximately 30 calls for service from November 14, 8 AM till November 15, 8 AM. During the same time period there have been four people lodged in Terrace Cells. Two of these people were lodged for public intoxication.
Downtown Terrace
- Suspicious man trying doors of vehicles parked at the Husky on Lakelse Ave. Police located the man on Lakelse Ave. The 64 yr old man was arrested for theft. Numerous stolen items were located on his person and seized. These items were returned to four separate businesses in the area of Lakelse Ave. The man was released on conditions.
- Four men drinking in a stairwell on Lakelse Ave. Checks were done of the area.
- Fight on Emerson St/Lakelse Ave. A 28 yr old man was transported by BC Ambulance to Mills Memorial Hospital for treatment of injuries. Police spoke with the man and received conflicting versions of events. Under investigation.
- A Pontiac Sunfire parked near the Coast Inn of the West with inactive plates. Under investigation.
- Fight on Lakelse Ave.
- Loiterers in the TD Bank ATM lobby. Checks were done of the area.
Elsewhere Terrace
- Familial dispute. An upset 17 yr old youth having a fit. Police spoke with the people involved.
- A black IPhone 4S in a green rubber case was lost near Walmart near 7 PM.
- A dog tied up outside of the Medical Clinic on Park Ave bit a woman walking by. She suffered minor injuries. Police spoke with the owner of the dog.
- Landlord/Tenant dispute. A man was given an eviction notice and still refuses to leave. Police spoke with the people involved.
- Two young women following a man who allegedly took money from them. Police located the man and spoke with him about the incident. He was uncooperative.
- Theft from a business on more than one occasion. Police spoke with the registered owner of a white Dodge truck that was involved in the theft.
- Man sleeping in the Terrace Public Library. He left on his own accord when the police attended. He was arrested a short time later at Mills Memorial Hospital for mischief and public intoxication.
- Intoxicated man passed out near the baseball diamond of Haugland Ave/Tetrault St. Police arrested a 50 yr old man for public intoxication.
- AWOL 20 yr old man from Mills Memorial Hospital. He returned on his own accord a short time later.
- Intoxicated man near the Zion Baptist Church on Sparks St. Police spoke with the man.
- Assist BC Ambulance with a 26 yr old suicidal man.
- Familial dispute. A 14 yr old girl left a residence upset. She returned on her own a short time later.
- A person experiencing delusions muttering to himself near Tetrault St. Police spoke with the 32 yr old man. He was apprehended under the Mental Health Act and had to be physically restrained when he attacked the police officer’s radio.
- Possible impaired driver in a silver Honda at Copperside on Hwy 16. Police pulled the vehicle over and spoke with the driver. No issues.
- Loud music and noise on Soucie Ave. Police spoke with a 31 yr old woman.
- Two intoxicated people passed out in the parking lot of the courthouse. Police arrested two men ages 21 and 23 and due to their level of intoxication transported them to Mills Memorial Hospital.
- A woman left two children ages 5 and 9 home alone to go to the bar. Police spoke with the people involved and ensured the children were safe. Ongoing investigation.
- A blue truck ran a red light on Hwy 16 and nearly struck a vehicle travelling southbound on Kenney St. No damage or injuries. Further details were not provided. Police spoke with the registered company owner.
Thornhill
- Unwanted person on Queensway Dr
Rural
- Man lying on the north side of Hwy 16 near Copper River. Checks were conducted in the area.
- Possible impaired driver in a yellow truck on Hwy 37. Checks were done of the area
- Breach investigation
- Missing 40 yr old woman.
