Terrace RCMP arrest squatters after pursuit on foot

An adult male and female were unlawfully in a seasonal property with insecure firearms

On Monday, Nov. 23, a homeowner contacted Terrace RCMP about the possibility of squatters living in his seasonal property, according to a Dec. 2 media release.

RCMP members attended the property and found an adult male and female unlawfully within. The occupants of the property tried to flee on foot but were arrested after a short pursuit.

Members searched the residence and found insecure firearms and ammunition which were seized. The male was arrested for Break and Enter, Breach of Undertaking x 3, Resisting Arrest and Careless use of a Firearm. The female was arrested for Break and Enter, Breach of Undertaking x 3, and Careless use of a Firearm.

Both were taken to the Terrace Detachment to be held for court.
