Terrace RCMP arrest drunk man with baby in stroller

He was passed out in alley behind local grocery store.

TERRACE RCMP have responded to approximately 54 calls for service from April 17, 8 a.m. till April 19, 8 a.m.

During the same time period, there were 16 people lodged in Terrace Cells.

Eleven of these people were lodged for public intoxication.

Here are some of the calls responded to:

Deceased 78-year-old woman on Old Lakelse Lake Dr.

Ongoing issue of shots being fired very late in the evening of Beaver Cr. in Copper River.

Domestic assault. Police arrested a 42-year-old man for breaching an undertaking by not leaving the presence of a person when asked. Further investigation determined that a 36-year-old woman cut up the face of the man and hit him with a bat. The woman was arrested for assault with a weapon and breaching an undertaking. The man was transported to Mills Memorial Hospital for treatment of injuries. The woman was held for court.

Suicidal 20-year-old woman. Police apprehended her under the Mental Health Act and transported her to Mills Memorial Hospital to be assessed.

A headache rack was stolen from a white Ford F350 parked at Totem Auto Repair, possibly over the previous weekend.

A black 1999 Honda Civic parked at a residence on Hemlock St. was stolen between noon and 4 p.m. on Monday, April 15.

Safeway store employees arrested a shoplifter. The 42-year-old man attempted to punch one of the employees. The man banged his head when the employees forced him out of the store. Police arrested the man for theft and assault. He was transported to Mills Memorial Hospital by BC Ambulance for assessment.

A silver change purse, various cards, and money were lost at a residence on Lakelse Ave.

Sexual assault investigation. A man touched an employee of Liquidation World inappropriately and aggressively. He is described as Caucasian, wearing a bandana with pot leaves on it over the mouth, jeans with rips in them, black hoodie, black and red skate shoes, red bandana in pants pocket, 5 ft. 7 inches, stocky, 180 lbs., lighter burn on right hand, and bruises or hickies on his neck. Under investigation.

Intoxicated man passed out in the back alley behind Safeway with a small child in a stroller beside him. Police arrested a 37-year-old man for breaching his undertaking by drinking alcohol and by going within a 25 m distance of Safeway. A one-year-old child was transported by police to the care of its mother. Charges of breach x2 and criminal negligence are being forwarded to Crown Counsel.

Break and enter to Furniture City on Lakelse Ave. at midnight last night. The glass front door was smashed. A 70 inch Sharpe flat screen television was stolen.
