Two local organizations have received a funding boost to help them put on events that haven’t been able to happen during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Northwest Regional Airshow was granted $22,150 and Pacific Northwest Music Festival (PNMF) added $15,000 from the Fairs, Festivals and Events Recovery Fund, designed to help organizers resume events this year.

The funding stream distributed funds for 680 events in 134 communities, totalling close to $30 million.

After two years of cancellations, the Pacific Northwest Music Festival (PNMF) is scheduled to return from April 22 to May 7, 2022 at the R.E.M. Lee Theatre in Terrace.

The two-week event will be different than years past due to the pandemic. For example, there will only be solo acts, the number of classes have been reduced and class numbers changed. A majority of the PNMF grant to go towards venue rental.

In the summer the Northwest Regional Airshow returns to Terrace. The Canadian Forces Snowbirds and CF-18 Demonstration Team are set to headline the show on July 20.
