Terrace man suffers serious head injuries when ATV rolls

It was being towed by another ATV, whose driver was arrested.

TERRACE RCMP responded to approximately 20 calls for service from February 18, 8 a.m. till February 19, 8 a.m. During the same time period, there were three people lodged in Terrace Cells, one man twice, all for pubic intoxication.

Downtown Terrace

intoxicated man on Lakelse Ave. Police arrested a 48-year-old man for public intoxication. He was transported to Mills Memorial Hospital. Four hours later he was arrested again for public intoxication on Lakelse Ave.

two false business alarms on Lakelse Ave.

vandalism at the Terrace Redi Mix on Earle St. A window was smashed.

a 13-year-old girl was stealing money from her mother's purse. Police spoke with the girl.

abandoned blue 2008 Dodge pickup truck in a parking lot on Legion Ave. Police conducted checks on the vehicle and gave advice on the matter.

erratic driver in an old black Jeep on Kalum Rd. by the old Fountain Tire.

false alarm on Best St.

five birth certificates and SIN cards in a brown paper bag were lost about six months ago.

false residential alarm on Halliwell Ave.

a black and red cell phone was found in the parking lot of the Terrace Law Courts on Kalum St.

abandoned 911 call from cell phone. Police spoke with the owner of the phone. It was false.

a man walking on McConnell Ave. was almost hit by a speeding truck. Police spoke with the driver who stated that he did not see the man because he was wearing such dark clothing and it was night.

two intoxicated people passed out on Kalum St. Police arrested a 15-year-old girl and a 27-year-old man for public intoxication.

23-year-old woman AWOL from the Mills Memorial Hospital. Ongoing issue. She returned on her own a short time later.

man passed out in the Denny's Restaurant on Hwy 16. Police woke the 21-year-old man up and sent him on his way. He was sober and looking for a place to sleep.

Thornhill

motor vehicle incident on Penner St. A quad that was being towed by another quad rolled. The 22-year-old passenger of the quad that rolled was launched and suffered serious injuries to his head and torso. He was not wearing a helmet. He was transported to Mills Memorial Hospital and then transferred to Vancouver General Hospital due to the seriousness of his injuries. Police arrested the 20-year-old driver of the other quad for investigation. All of the people involved had been drinking alcohol.
