Terrace man hospitalized, claims he was shot in the arm

Police said reports of shots fired have not been confirmed

A woman called RCMP at the request of a man who reported that he had been shot in the arm in the area of the 3100 Block of Braun Street on the morning of July 15.

Police attended their camp and observed the man’s wound, which police said “did not appear consistent with that of a gunshot wound ” and attending physicians did not confirm to police if the wound was caused by a gunshot.

Police said initial information received about the injury was “contradicting” and no suspects were located or identified.

The man was taken to the hospital for treatment to the wound and was later flown to another out of town hospital for continued treatment.

Police are continuing to investigate and anyone with information about this is asked to contact the RCMP at 250-638-7400 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
