Terrace, B.C. man charged with aggravated sexual assault

Victim was sent to hospital in Vancouver with life-threatening injuries, say Terrace RCMP.

A Terrace man has been charged in relation to an incident on Medeek Avenue.

Chad Eric Wells, 23, was arrested on March 2, 2017 and is charged with one count of aggravated sexual assault. He remains in custody.

"The quick gathering of information was essential in identifying a suspect and making an arrest," stated Sgt. Michael Robinson, the detachment’s acting officer in charge, adding that police thank the public for its assistance in this investigation.

"This is a serious and concerning event. Our officers worked tirelessly to put together the pieces of what transpired in this vicious sexual assault. Hopefully everyone in Terrace can rest easier as a result."

Home security surveillance obtained from the public was instrumental in assisting investigators, added Sgt. Robinson.

Just after 7 a.m. on February 26, 2017, Terrace RCMP attended an address on Medeek Avenue for a report of a woman located inside with what ended up being life-threatening injuries.

She was flown to a hospital in Vancouver and remains in stable, but serious condition.
