Teen shoplifter arrested

Store employee who arrested him found a knife on him.

TERRACE RCMP responded to approximately 30 calls for service from May 30, 8 a.m. till May 31, 8 a.m. During the same time period, there have been eight people lodged in Terrace Cells. Five of these people were lodged for public intoxication.

Downtown Terrace

a woman lost her wallet, then called back shortly after having found the wallet.

theft of an ornamental dagger from Gemma's Boutique.

intoxicated man in the stairwell of a business on Lakelse Ave. refusing to leave. A 27-year-old man was arrested for public intoxication.

four people did a dine and dash at Pizza Hut. Police located the people involved who claimed a misunderstanding and paid for the meal.

Safeway employee arrested a boy for shoplifting. They found a knife on his person. The boy refused to provide his name to police. He was arrested for theft. Further investigation led police to escort the 14-year-old boy to Mills Memorial Hospital for assessment.

intoxicated person outside of the Husky on Lakelse Ave. Police arrested a 33-year-old man for public intoxication.

suicidal 29-year-old woman. She was transported to Mills Memorial Hospital by BC Ambulance.

false business alarm on Lakelse Ave.

a man hit in the head with a baseball bat. BC Ambulance transported the man to Mills Memorial Hospital for treatment of injuries. He was not cooperative with police investigation. Police spoke with numerous intoxicated people. Consensual intoxicated fight.

Elsewhere Terrace

a fire extinguisher belonging to a motel was found in a vehicle. Police returned the extinguisher.

assist BC Ambulance. Police apprehended a 47-year-old woman under the Mental Health Act and transported her to Mills Memorial Hospital.

a person wanted to report that a family member in Port Alberni was approached by phone of a person attempting to pull the fix-your-computer-remotely scam. The person was not victimized.

false business alarm on Hwy 16 west.

man passed out at the Terrace Aquatic Centre. Police arrested a 21-year-old man for public intoxication.

man passed out sitting on a toilet at the Copperside 3 on Kalum St. The 20-year-old man was arrested for public intoxication. An amount of drugs and drug paraphernalia were seized from his person.

group of people looking like they were going to fight in behind Suwilaawks School. Police spoke with the group. No issues.

suicidal 17-year-old boy. Police spoke with the boy. Unsubstantiated.

man walking into traffic on Halliwell Ave. Police arrested a 30-year-old man for public intoxication at the bottom of Kalum Hill.

false 911 call.

man sleeping under a tree on Pear St. He left prior to police attendance.

boy passed out near a daycare centre on Munroe St. Police transported a 15-year-old boy to his residence and put him into the care of family.

Thornhill

ongoing separation issues. Civil dispute over property. Police gave advice on the matter.

suicidal 39-year-old man. Police transported the man to Mills Memorial Hospital for assessment.

intoxicated driver in a silver Subaru Impreza on Thornhill St./Dogwood Ave. Checks were done of area.

Rural

assist the Royal Canadian Air Cadets with temporary storage of ammunition.

familial dispute. Police involvement was not wanted.

suicidal 32-year-old man. Police spoke with the man who was belligerent with police about checking up on him. Unsubstantiated.

Kulspai

possible assault at the Kitselas Band Hall. An intoxicated 49-year-old man attempted to kick the door in of a residence over a dispute of a bottle of vodka. A consensual fight ensued. No injuries.
