RCMP ARE once again reminding people not to leave items in plain sight in their vehicles following several thefts recently.

On May 6 between 5:30 pm and 6:30 pm several thefts from vehicles occurred in the area of the Terrace Sportsplex and Chances.

Several vehicles were entered and numerous items were stolen. Most of these items were recovered and reunited with their proper owner, but several items are still seeking their owners,” report the RCMP.

Anyone who may be missing sunglasses, an Olympic coin, and a tire pressure gauge as a result of a theft from their vehicle around that time should contact Constable McRae at Terrace RCMP at 250-638-7400. A more detailed description of items will be required.

RCMP say people should always lock their vehicle doors.

Most thefts from vehicles are a crime of opportunity and an open door is an open invitation to some people,” say police.

It is also recommended that no one leave anything in plain view inside their vehicle and never to leave any valuables in their vehicles. One man’s junk is another man’s treasure,” police add.
