People in Stewart will soon be able to hit the ice at the Al Lawrence arena.

The District is hosting a public skating session on Thursday, Nov. 19 from 3:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. To comply with the COVID-19 safety plan, masks are mandatory when entering and exiting the arena. Physical distancing should be maintained at all times on and off the ice, and no spectators will be allowed unless they have children under 12 years-old skating.

Helmets must be worn while skating and attendees must show up to the arena ready to put on their skates — loitering is not permitted. The capacity for public skating is 30 people.

In conjunction with the opening of the arena, the District of Stewart is asking that anyone with items inside the arena to pick them up by Nov. 27, and anything that remains after that date will be removed.

People are asked to contact the district office with any questions and to set up a time to pick up belongings.
