Sparks St. homicide victim identified

Police have confirmed the identity of the man found dead at his Sparks St. area home last week as 29-year-old Nathan Ward.

"The Terrace RCMP and North District Major Crimes Unit have confirmed the identity of the male victim of the Spark St. area homicide as Nathan Ward," reads the RCMP release.

Ward was found deceased last Tuesday, July 23, outside of his Sparks St. apartment around 1:20 a.m.

"The investigation is ongoing, with no further details being released at this time with respect to the cause of Mr. Ward’s death," reads the release. "Members of the Forensic Identification Unit were on scene for several days and have completed a thorough examination of the scene."

Although the cause of death remains unknown, police have reported that the victim suffered "significant trauma."

RCMP investigators have notified Mr. Ward’s family and are continuing to provide support to them. They have asked that we release a photo of Nathan in efforts to possibly assist the investigation, said Cpl Dan Moskaluk.
