Second arson try at Terrace hotel

TERRACE RCMP are investigating a second failed arson attempt of the Best Western Inn.

TERRACE RCMP are investigating a second failed arson attempt of the Best Western Inn.

“This is the second arson attempt in 48 hours. We believe that the same person is responsible for both,” says Cst. Rob Hull of the Terrace RCMP.

Sometime between 11 PM, Nov. 1 and 9:30 AM, Nov. 2 a person threw a rock breaking a window of Beasley’s, the street-level lounge at the hotel.

A Molotov cocktail was then thrown at the window. The second pane of glass did not break from the rock, so the Molotov cocktail did not make it inside of the building. The Molotov fizzled out on the street. Terrace RCMP Forensic Identification are assisting with the investigation.

If you have any information about this crime contact the Terrace RCMP at (250)638-7400 or anonymously through Crime Stoppers by telephone at 1-800-222-TIPS. Or a Tip can be left anonymously online at www.bccrimestoppers.com.

An arson attempt earlier this week also failed.
