School board keeps top administrator

COAST MOUNTAINS school board trustees want to keep Nancy Wells on as school superintendent.

COAST MOUNTAINS school board trustees want to keep Nancy Wells on as school superintendent.

Brought in first as a caretaker superintendent after the Coast Mountains school district parted ways with Rob Green wood in the fall of 2010 while a search for a permanent one was found, the board announced last night that Wells is staying on.

Details are being finalized and timelines will be made public at a future Board of Education meeting,” said the board in a release.

Wells was to have been finished June 30.

The board also announced it has hired Kevin Lorenz to be its finance manager as of Feb. 13.

Lorenz is a former Terrace resident and graduate of Caledonia Senior Secondary School. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of British Columbia, a Diploma in Accounting from Vancouver Community College and is a member in good standing of the Certified General Accountants Association of B.C., the board noted in a separate release.

His work experience includes being an associate with an accounting firm.

We are pleased to have an individual with Kevin’s education and experience joining the Coast Mountains team,” the release continued.

This is a position made vacant when Alanna Cameron moved on up to become secretary treasurer after the board severed its relationship with Linda Brown in the fall of 2010.
