Sandbagging machine operational in Terrace

Hand bagging is still available at the Public Works yard as well as at the Thornhill Fire Department

The City of Terrace has set up a sandbagging machine thanks to Emergency Management BC (EMBC), which provided the equipment for the city’s flood response.

The sandbagging machine is located on the vacant log sort area at the northwest corner of Keith Avenue and Kenney Street and can fill about 600 bags per hour.

A staff member will be on site to fill the machine with sand. Members of the public can then use it to fill bags as needed. Some pre-filled bags may also be available.

Hand bagging is still available at the Public Works yard as well as at the Thornhill Fire Department.
