Police seize pot from prohibited driver

The Terrace RCMP have responded to approximately 30 calls for service from April 10, 8 AM till April 11, 8 AM.

The Terrace RCMP have responded to approximately 30 calls for service from April 10, 8 AM till April 11, 8 AM. During the same time period there were six people lodged in Terrace Cells, none for public intoxication.

Downtown Terrace

- abandoned phone call from a pay and talk phone. Police have made numerous queries to contact the registered owner. Still under investigation to contact the owner.

- Safeway manager arrested a 31 yr old man for shoplifting. Police arrested the man and placed him on conditions banning him from going to Safeway. Charges are being forwarded to Crown Counsel.

- police observed a woman known to them walking on Lakelse Ave. Checks were conducted. There was an outstanding warrant of arrest out of Hazelton for the woman. Police arrested the 22 yr old woman.

- erratic driver in a green Ford Taurus driving east on Lakelse Ave.

- a 36 yr old man was observed drinking alcohol in the George Little Park. The alcohol was dumped out and the man moved on.

Elsewhere Terrace

- false business alarm on Kalum St

- sexual assault investigation. Police spoke with numerous people. Unsubstantiated.

- possible breach of a no go condition. Police attended to the location. A woman was spoken with. The man was not located.

- false residential alarm on Scott Ave.

- a red 1988 Ford Mustang and a blue 2000 Ford F-150 were involved in a motor vehicle incident in the parking lot of Tim Hortons on Keith Ave. The Mustang sustained minor damage. A passenger of the Mustang claimed minor injuries but declined medical assistance.

- familial dispute. A 22 yr old man left prior to police attendance. A woman was spoken with at length about the situation.

- false business alarm on Greig Ave.

- a black dog following a truck around on McConnell Ave.

- a prohibited driver parked a silver 1999 Chevrolet Silverado directly in front of police assisting with the execution of a search warrant on Davis Ave. Police approached the vehicle, smelt marihuana, and then observed same inside of the truck. A 27 yr old man was arrested for possession of drugs and prohibited driving. A search of the vehicle also resulted in the discovery of what police suspect to be cocaine. The vehicle was impounded. Under investigation.

- police provided advice in the matter of an impending separation.

- hang up 911 call. Police spoke with the woman who was fine, just learning how to work her new phone.

- false business alarm on Century St.

- a 34 yr old man attended the detachment for the execution of his warrant out of Hazelton. Same done.

- Loss Prevention Officer of Walmart arrested a 38 yr old for shoplifting. He left prior to police attendance.

- Loss Prevention Officer of Walmart arrested a 31 yr old woman for shoplifting. Charges are being forwarded to Crown Counsel. The woman is banned from the store.

- a white 2004 GMC dump truck parked on Legion Ave had its windows smashed out overnight April 10/11. Ongoing issue of vandalism in this area.

Rural

- sexual assault investigation

- three men in a green 1993 Jeep trespassing on a property on Kozier Rd, despite numerous no trespassing signs. Police spoke with the registered owner of the Jeep who was belligerent and unwilling to be reasonable.

- a man driving a silver Chevrolet Silverado crew cab truck dumping loads of brush/wood on Thornhill Mountain Rd. Police spoke with the registered owner of the license plate provided but it was not the correct truck.

- a white 2001 Dodge Ram driving all over Kalum Lake Rd. Checks were conducted.
