Terrace RCMP are looking for the driver of a dark pickup in connection with the fatal crash on Hwy 16 west Jan. 7.

TERRACE RCMP are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the driver of a third vehicle that is believed to be involved in yesterday’s fatal crash on Hwy 16.

We have information that a third vehicle was potentially involved in this collision which fled the scene heading west towards Prince Rupert. This vehicle is believed to be a dark coloured Dodge pickup truck. The truck is believed to have front passenger side damage, says Const. Kim Robinson, West Pacific Region Traffic Service.

A 27-year-old man from Prince Rupert lost his life in the crash that occurred on Hwy 16 West at the 104 km mark yesterday at approximately 3 p.m.

A Honda Civic travelling west lost control and collided head-on with an empty dual axle gravel truck travelling east.

The 31-year-old driver of the Honda, also from Prince Rupert, was transported to Mills Memorial Hospital in serious condition.

The 58-year-old driver of the gravel truck was transported to Mills Memorial Hospital with minor injuries.

Road conditions at the time were snow covered and slippery.
