Police make arrest, seize pot

Drug charges recommended after man is arrested last night

POLICE SAY a man is appearing in Terrace court today after he was arrested last night.

Police are recommending charges of drug trafficking after they say they seized two vacuum-packages of marijuana. Each package weighs approximately half a pound.

The man, 29, who is known to police, was arrested after police spoke to him on the corner of Hwy37 and Substation Road at midnight last night.

"When police detected a strong odor of marihuana emitting from the man, they exited the police vehicle to investigate further. The man bolted. Police gave chase and eventually caught up and arrested the man without further incident by Kickstart Motors," a police release today stated.
