Panhandler arrested for threatening family

Terrace RCMP say man panhandling outside Royal Bank.

TERRACE RCMP responded to approximately 26 calls for service from June 5, 8 a.m. till June 6, 8 a.m. During the same time period, there were two people lodged in Terrace Cells. One of these persons was lodged for public intoxication.

Downtown Terrace

harassment via texting and Facebook. Police gave advice on the matter.

intoxicated man refused service in the Coast Beer and Wine Store drove away in a dark blue Chevrolet Suburban.

a man obtained discounts on his gas using another person's phone number. Police gave advice on the matter.

49-year-old man panhandling outside of the Royal Bank. Police spoke with the man. A short time later he was arrested when he uttered a threat to a family while panhandling.

a black accordion folder containing various items was found near the Sande Overpass and turned into the detachment.

speeding driver in a white 2000 Oldsmobile. Police spoke with the registered owner.

Elsewhere Terrace

a woman wanted police to make her estranged spouse stay on his side of the house. Police spoke with the people involved.

a green Ford truck abandoned near Munroe St./Davis Ave. Police spoke with the registered owner.

intoxicated man inside of the women's washroom at the Terrace Library. He was gone prior to police attendance. Checks were done of area.

a man attended a women's place of work when he is on a no contact order. Investigation determined that the man is not on any such conditions and that he did not attend this place of work.

missing nine-year-old boy. He made it back home while he was still being reported missing.

a man having a fit, throwing things and scaring people. Police spoke with the 21-year-old man who had calmed down and was willing to behave.

false business alarm on Kalum St.

man passed out on the floor of a residence on Sparks St. He left prior to police attendance. Police located the man staggering through the trees of the forested area near Mills Memorial Hospital. Police transported the 39-year-old man to a family member's residence.

a brown and green Reebok backpack was found under the new bridge by Walmart.

a landlord/tenant dispute on Marten Dr. Police gave advice on the matter.

harassment complaint involving an ex.

shoplifter at Walmart. A 30-year-old man was arrested. Charges are being forwarded to Crown Counsel.

Thornhill

a man believed he saw his missing dog in the window of a residence. Police attended to the residence and spoke with the woman. The woman denied having the dog.

false business alarm on Motz Rd.

a red Ford Ranger was pulled over on Hwy 16/Kofoed Rd. The 41-year-old driver was suspended. Charges are being forwarded to Crown Counsel and the vehicle he was driving was towed.

police assisted Mental Health Terrace with the execution of a warrant on a 53-year-old man.

Gitaus

assist BC Ambulance with a suicidal woman.

Rural

a black 2002 Buick Century was pulled over on Hwy 37 south near Onion Lake for going 146 km/hr in a 100 km/hr zone. The 28-year-old driver was dealt with for excessive speed and the vehicle he was driving was impounded.

assist Kitimat RCMP with the execution of a warrant.

a diesel fuel bladder was stolen sometime in the past month. It holds fuel for helicopters.
