Numerous arrests made for being intoxicated

HERE ARE some of the events requiring the presence of RCMP officers between Oct. 7 and Oct. 10, 2011. October 7th to October 10th, 2011 Downtown Terrace: - break & enter at the Centennial Christian School on Spark Street, thieves made off with a fire extinguisher which was recovered in the bushes nearby.

Downtown Terrace:

- break & enter at the Centennial Christian School on Spark Street, thieves made off with a fire extinguisher which was recovered in the bushes nearby.

- report in the 4500 block of Greig Avenue of someone on the roof, patrols made but no

one located.

- report of threats at a residence on Spark Street

- a young person was taken to Family & Children Services after being located wet & cold

late Friday night.

- false alarm at a downtown business

- female arrested & lodged for public intoxication

- Friday night at 9:30 pm police responded to a report of a missing 2 year old at Save On

Foods. The store was immediately locked down and the boy located inside the store

within minutes. No foul play.

- Friday night a male was arrested outside the Spirit Nightclub after reports of someone

intoxicated and swearing. The male was lodged in cells.

- a male was arrested and lodged in cells shortly before midnight for public intoxication

near the Terrace Arena

- police found a bag containing personal items abandon at the corner of Eby Street and

Hwy # 16.

- early Saturday morning a 26 year old Terrace male was arrested for breaching his bail

conditions.

- a male was arrested for public intoxication and lodged in cells after found passed out in the lobby of the Coast Inn.

- a male was arrested and lodged in cells after found passed out at the corner of Kalum St and Lazelle Ave.

- a male was taken into custody and lodged until sober after he was evicted from the Bear

Country Inn.

- false business alarm caused by workers

- Saturday afternoon police received a report of a missing person after a women failed to

show up for work. The woman was located later that evening at a friend’s place. The

woman had called her employer, however the message was not passed along.

- police responded to a report of a male panhandling near an ATM in the downtown area.

- a male was arrested and lodged in cells after he was found passed out on the 4400 block

of Lakesle Avenue.

- the driver of a red Dodge pickup was issued a 90 day suspension and will have his vehicle

impounded for 30 days after being stopped by police early Sunday morning. The driver

registered a warn on a roadside screening device.

- a Halliwell Avenue man was lodged in cells and charged after police found him

intoxicated banging on the glass doors of a downtown business at 3:45 am Sunday.

- police responded to a report of a drug user frequently a downtown hotel

- false alarm at a business on Century Street

- an 11 year old youth was reported missing Monday night. He was located by police

downtown and returned to his foster home.

- three men causing problems outside Chances Casino. Police attended and all departed by cab without further incident.

- three female youth were arrested on the 4600 block of Loen Street early Tuesday morning for public intoxication, two of the youth were lodged in cells while the third was taken by

ambulance to hospital.

Elsewhere in Terrace:

- a young person was arrest for breaching her Undertaking & released on a PTA.

- a male was found drunk asleep on a lawn, he was given a ride to his hotel

- report of a young person threatening suicide, the subject was located & agreed to go to the

hospital

- police are investigating a report of cruelty to an animal

- police are looking for a man following an assault on Chimdamesh Loop

- false alarm at a residence on Spark Street

- the driver of a Honda Odessy was charged with failing to yield the right of way following

a two vehicle collision Friday evening around 7:30 pm at the Sande Overpass and Greig

Avenue. No one was injured, however both vehicles were damaged and towed from the

scene.

- report of a group drinking and making noise along Loen Avenue

- a Terrace women was treated and released without injuries after walking across Hwy #16 and into the path of an oncoming car Friday night. The pedestrian was charged under the Motor Vehicle Act for unsafe crossing.

- report Friday night of a missing youth from a group home.

- police responded to a dispute on Kalum Street, both parties were spoken to an agreed to

go their separate ways.

- police attended to an apartment on Pear Street and an apartment on Sparks Street

following two separate reports of loud music Saturday morning.

- police attended to a report of two women fighting on Thornhill Street. No one was found

upon police arrival.

- shortly before 6:30 am Saturday morning police assisted the Terrace Fire Department

with a mobile home fire at 3614 kalum Street. No one was injured in the blaze, however

the structure was destroyed. Hot ashes in the garbage are believed to be the cause.

- police attended to a dispute between two sisters at an apartment on the 4500 block of

Little Avenue. The parties separated prior to police arriving. Alcohol was a factor.

- Saturday morning police located two mushroom pickers at a residence after a report

concerning the men’s well being.

- a 19 year old male from New Aiyansh was apprehended for shoplifting at Walmart.

- a 21 year old male was arrested in a residence on Tuck Avenue for breaching his release

conditions

- three youth were apprehended behind Clarence Michael school on Spark Street after attempting to light a trash can on fire. The boys, two age 11, one age 10, were turned

over to their parents.

- Police located a 35 year old Terrace man after reports the man was planning to harm

himself. The male was taken by police to Mills Memorial Hospital for treatment .

- a 24 hour driving suspension was issued to the occupant of a vehicle located Brook Street

- false alarm at a business early Sunday morning

- a 24 year old Terrace man was arrested for public intoxication on Pear Street

- shortly before 1:30 Sunday morning police responded to a hit and run on Braun Street. A

red pick up was observed drive into a fence causing damage to both the fence and pickup.

The vehicle was located at a residence at Old Lakesle Drive. The owner is facing a

charge of failing to remain under the Motor Vehicle Act.

- Early Sunday morning police responded to an alarm at Veritas School on Straume

Avenue. Police discovered a smashed window. Witnesses say two males and a female

were seen running from the area.

- false alarm at a daycare

- police responded to a report of a person driving through the North Kalum Trailer park with loud music. The vehicle was located and the driver arrested for threats on an unrelated matter.

- report of the rear window smashed out of a vehicle parked near Kalum Street and Keith Avenue

- 4 youth were apprehended following a report of youth damaging a fence at the corner of Sparks and Davis. A 12 year old female admitted to causing the damage and was taken home by police.

- Sunday evening police responded to a report of a bear in a garage on Little Avenue. The bear was gone when police arrived.

- a pizza delivery vehicle was egged by a mob along Krumm Road.

- police responded to a request to remove people from a residence on Little Avenue. Upon police arrival the group left without incident.

- an 11 year old youth was taken to Mills Memorial hospital by police after reports the youth was planning to harm herself.

- Monday afternoon police chased a bear off a lawn at Maroney Drive

- police attended to a 911 call at a Spark Street apartment. A female had become upset when the male stated he wanted to end their relationship. The female agreed to stay with a friend for the night.

- report of fireworks late Monday night

- false residential alarm

- police responded to a 911 call on Haugland Avenue. A male and female had been arguing.

- a mentally challenged women was located and returned to a group home

Thornhill:

- a male was arrested outside a residence after he was reportedly banging on a door and yelling. The male was held until sober, no charges are anticipated.

- Friday evening police attended to a report of strange noises in a wooded area near a residence. Nothing was found.

- Saturday afternoon police responded to a report of a suicidal female. The woman was taken by police to hospital. She suffered no injuries.

- police are investigating an assault that occurred outside the Northern Bar early Sunday morning.

- reports of an older blue Mustang driving at a high rate of speed on Simpson Crescent

- a Lowrie Avenue resident discovered several items in her backyard Monday afternoon.

The items have all been seized by police.

Kitsumkalum, Kulspai, Gitaus:

- police attended to a report of a father being assaulted by his two sons. One son was taken

into custody & later released. Alcohol was a factor, no charges are expected.

Rural:

- report of an older, dark mustang doing donuts on Hwy # 16 near Copper River Road, police attended and discovered tire marks on the highway, but the vehicle was not found.

- police located a Jeep Cherokee along Hwy # 37 South following a report of a possible impaired driver. The driver was sober and explained she had been looking for mushrooms. The driver was warned to pay attention when driving.
