A SEARCH continues today along the Nass River near Gingolx in the Nass Valley after a call for help was heard yesterday morning.

“Highway flaggers working in the area heard what they believed to be a man repeatedly calling “hey hey” for approximately an hour between 9:00 AM and 10:00 AM,” a release from the RCMP this morning indicates.

That prompted numerous people from Gingolx and Laxgalts’ap starting a search with boats along with a RCMP marine section and search and rescue personnel.

No one was found and a follow up aerial patrol also proved unsuccessful.

The search has resumed this morning and more aerial patrols are being conducted.

Anyone with information that can assist the search efforts is asked to call the Lisims/Nass Valley RCMP at 250 633-2222.
