The New Hazelton RCMP are investigating a report of two missing mushroom pickers.

Officers are trying to locate 56 year old Clifford Hillis and 46 year old Maxine George.  The couple are driving a red/maroon 2005 Chevrolet Impala bearing BC License 240NJR.

The couple were last heard from by family on September 22, 2011, when they advised family at 1:00 p.m. via VHF radio of their intention to head into the forest to go mushroom picking.

The couple planned to return home by 6:00 p.m. but neither Hillis nor George returned home, and family have not heard from them since.

It is believed the couple may have gone mushroom picking on one of the forestry roads up the Kispiox Valley, or somewhere off of Hwy 37.

The New Hazelton RCMP are requesting the public assistance in keeping an eye out for a red/maroon 2005 Chevrolet Impala bearing BC License 240NJR, and to call the New Hazelton Detachment at (250)842-5244 if the vehicle, Hillis or George are seen.
