Mother and daughter arrested for shoplifting

Terrace RCMP catch pair stashing meat and other groceries into their bags.

TERRACE RCMP have responded to approximately 17 calls for service from May 27, 8 a.m. till May 28, 8 a.m. During the same time period, there were four people lodged in Terrace Cells. Two of these people were lodged for intoxication reasons.

Downtown Terrace

vandalism. KKK was scratched into a grey 2003 Honda Civic parked from 11 a.m. till 6 p.m. in the Ruins Board Shop parking lot.

Loss Prevention Officer of Safeway arrested a woman and her daughter for shoplifting. They were caught stashing meat and other grocery products into their bags. The 15-year-old girl had an outstanding warrant for her arrest. Both were put on conditions to not go to Safeway. Charges of theft are being forwarded on both.

man passed out between the Coast hotel and the Royal Bank. Police called BC Ambulance who transported the 49-year-old man to Mills Memorial Hospital.

false business alarm on Lazelle Ave.

Elsewhere Terrace

a white 1992 Ford F-250 truck passed a police car parked on the side of Labelle Ave./Thomas St. The police officer smelled an overwhelming stench of marijuana. Police pulled the vehicle over and seized an amount of marijuana from the 25-year-old passenger.

police were concerned about the mental health of a 21-year-old man. Discussions were had with Mills Memorial Hospital Staff. Police apprehended the man under the Mental Health Act. Ongoing concerns and discussions with Mills Staff. No criminal offence committed.

familial dispute. Police requested the assistance of Ministry of Children and Families. Ongoing investigation into assault allegation.

missing 13-year-old girl. Family made contact with the girl. She wanted to hang out with friends instead of going home. Not a police matter.

an unwanted person inside of a residence on Kalum St. Police were escorting the man out of the residence when he assaulted the police and uttered threats. The 56-year-old man was arrested.

a woman was assaulted by a co-worker. The woman did not want police involvement.

two bikes found by the river at the end of Ferry Island. Two women collected the bikes shortly before police arrived.

false business alarm on Keith Ave.

Thornhill

a red 1989 Ford Lariat truck abandoned on Kirsch St. for a week. Police spoke with the registered owner.

police observed a couple walking together on Old Lakelse Lake Dr. Checks determined that they were both on conditions to have no contact with one another unless during a specific time period and in the presence of a sober third person who is aware of the conditions. No such person was observed therefore both were arrested. The 43-year-old man is held for court.

a train hit a dog at New Remo.

Rural

a shed on Old Lakelse Lake Dr. was broken into. Nothing was taken. A licence plate was found a short distance away. It had been reported stolen 10 days ago.

a permit was issued for a restricted licence plate on a grass mower.

domestic dispute. A man uttered threats to a woman. The woman was not cooperative with police. Police gave advice on the matter.

possible impaired driver in a brown 2006 Ford F 250. Police found the registered owner checking in at the airport. He was sober.
