Missing mushroom pickers sought near Terrace, BC

Helicopter used to search for the two men went missing the evening of Sept. 22

THE Terrace RCMP with the assistance of Terrace Search and Rescue are searching the area of Lorne Creek for two local men ages 26 and 32 yrs of age who failed to return the evening of Sept. 22 while out mushroom picking.

A search of the area was commenced at 7 AM this morning by the Terrace RCMP and Terrace Search and Rescue. More searchers have been called in and a local helicopter is being utilized as efforts to locate the men continue, said Cst Angela Rabut, Community Policing/Media Relations Officer Terrace RCMP, on Sept. 23.

Three men set off by boat Sept. 22 at approximately 8 AM to pick mushrooms in the area of Lorne Creek along the Skeena River. Two of the men partnered up and set off together. They failed to return back to the boat at the set time later in the day. The third man returned to town and the men were reported missing last night.
