Men caught fishing from lawn chairs set up on CN rail tracks

The Terrace RCMP responded to approximately 108 calls for service from July 25th, 8 a.m. till July 28, 8 a.m.

The Terrace RCMP responded to approximately 108 calls for service from July 25, 8 a.m. till July 28, 8 a.m. During the same time period 20 people were lodged in Terrace Cells. Nine of these people were lodged for intoxication.

Two shoplifters at Shoppers Drug Mart. They fled when they were caught by staff. The first girl is described as 12 yrs old, long dark hair, dark complexion, pink hoodie, black tight pants with cuts on front of both legs, and dark colored/white shoes. The second girl is described as 12 yrs old, reddish brown curly hair, light complexion, wearing blue jeans. A black/purple backpack was recovered containing stolen items from the Wholesale club that were returned. Under investigation.

Vandalism to a 2005 grey Dodge Ram truck parked at a residence on Cottonwood Cr. The driver’s side front and rear tires were punctured.

9 yr old shoplifter at Walmart. Police had discussions with the child’s guardian.

Loss Prevention Officer of Walmart observed a man shoplift. The man fled on a bike. Police located the man under the bridge off Queensway Dr. The 38 yr old man was arrested. Charges are being forwarded to Crown Counsel.

A female driving a white 2014 Nissan Sentra on the wrong side of the road, turned left onto Eby St. Police located the vehicle parked in a parking lot on Lakelse Ave. Upon activating emergency equipment the vehicle fled, going over a curb, speeding, and going through a stop sign at Kalum St. The vehicle was located later in the evening and was seized as part of the investigation.

A grey 2002 GMC Sierra truck was pulled over on Hwy 16 near the new bridge. The 25 yr old driver provided two samples of breath into a roadside screening device that resulted in fails. He was served an Immediate Roadside Prohibition and the vehicle he was driving was impounded.

A woman acting irrationally and refusing to leave a residence on Cooper Dr. She left prior to police attendance. She returned while police were at the residence and was arrested. She kicked and spat at the police officer. Checks determined that she was breaching a condition sentence order by consuming alcohol and being outside of her residence outside of curfew hours. The woman is held for court. Police have forwarded charges of mischief, assault police officer, and three counts of breach of conditional sentence order.

A grey 2009 Toyota Corolla hit the ditch and flipped on Kalum Lake Rd. The 17 yr old driver was taken to Mills Memorial Hospital by BC Ambulance for treatment of minor injuries. The girl had been drinking alcohol prior to the incident.

A grey 2009 Honda Civic was pulled over on Hwy 16 east of Terrace for going 127 km/hr in a 100 km/hr zone. The driver provided a sample of breath into a roadside screening device that resulted in a fail. She was arrested and transported to the detachment where she provided two samples of breath that were over the legal limit. Charges of driving while impaired are being forwarded to Crown Counsel.

Suicidal 30 yr old woman driving a blue 2007 Chrysler Pacifica. The vehicle was located in a parking lot on Lakelse Ave with expired plates. The woman provided a sample of breath into a roadside screening device that resulted in a fail. She was served an Immediate Roadside Prohibition and the vehicle she was driving was impounded. She was not suicidal.

Vandalism to a residence on Cottonwood Cr. A hole was made in the window.

A guest of a motel left without paying in full. Police spoke with the people involved and a resolution was reached.

A vehicle was pulled over on Hall St. The 37 yr old driver was in breach of a conditional sentence order and a recognizance of bail by being in possession of alcohol, by entering a liquor store, and by not carrying a copy of his recognizance. The man was arrested and is held for court.

A quad crashed into a rock face on West Kalum Rd. The 16 yr old driver was transported to Mills Memorial Hospital for treatment of numerous injuries. The boy had been drinking before the incident.

An intoxicated 15 yr old girl fell of her bike on Queensway Dr and hit her head sustaining injuries. She was not wearing a helmet. BC Ambulance transported the girl to Mills Memorial Hospital.

Police arrested a 39 yr old man for possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking. Charges are being forwarded to Crown Counsel.

An abandoned white quad in the back yard of a residence on West Kalum Rd. When police were dealing with another incident in the area two teenage boys drove the quad into the yard then were seen running from it. Police spoke with the homeowner.

Police pulled over a blue 2000 Ford Explorer on Hwy 16/Clark St. The licence plate was attached to another vehicle. The 47 yr old driver provided a sample of breath into a roadside screening device that resulted in a warn. He was served an Immediate Roadside Prohibition and the vehicle he was driving was impounded.

Theft from an unlocked white 2014 Dodge Journey parked on Haugland Ave. Various cards, cash, white Beats headphones, and keys were stolen.

A quad hit the ditch and flipped on Westside Rd. It landed on top of its 13 yr old operator. BC Ambulance treated the girl who was wearing a helmet and did not suffer any injuries. The parents are dealing with the matter.

Domestic dispute. A woman was assaulted and property was damaged. A 30 yr old man was arrested. Charges are being forwarded to Crown Counsel.

Break and enter to a residence on Mountainview Ave. Access was gained by a broken window on the upper floor of the residence.

Two men smoking dope at the skate board park. Police seized an amount of drugs from a 16 yr old boy and a 15 yr old boy.

A white 2008 Chrysler Town and Country van was pulled over on Hall St/Haughland Ave. The 44 yr old driver provided a sample of breath into a roadside screening device that resulted in a fail. She was served an Immediate Roadside Prohibition and the vehicle she was driving was impounded. She had a Class 7 Driver’s licence.

Domestic assault. A man was seen hitting, kicking, and throwing a woman to the ground in the parking lot of the Northern Motor Inn. The woman fled to a van and the man was seen smashing the window out of the van. Police arrested an 18 yr old man. He is held for court.
