Man yells obscenities and threats inside Terrace RCMP detachment

Terrace RCMP responded to approximately 33 calls for service from October 8th, 8 a.m. till October 9th, 8 a.m.

During the same time period, seven people were lodged in Terrace cells – one person was lodged for intoxication.

Downtown Terrace

Man acting in an irrational manner on Greig Ave. Police spoke with the man. Police were called again when the man was scaring people by aggressively panhandling outside of Copperside Foods on Kalum St. He left prior to police attendance. Another call was received later in the evening of the same man acting in an irrational manner on the Sande Overpass. Checks were done of the area. Another call of the same man causing a disturbance at Save On Foods. Police spoke with the man and transported him to Mills Memorial Hospital. Police spoke with hospital staff. A solution to this ongoing issue was not reached. Later on police were called to the hospital when this man was bothering staff and refusing to leave. Police escorted the man out of the hospital.

Two vehicles erratic driving. Checks were done of the area.

Elsewhere Terrace

Numerous identification cards belonging to various people were found. Police spoke with a man who was the owner of most of the cards. His wallet was stolen from a 2013 Ford F250 truck parked on Goulet Ave.

A purse containing wallet and various cards and ID stolen from an unlocked grey Chevrolet Silverado sometime last night. Most of the cards were recovered in the previous incident.

Domestic dispute. A man kicked a door in and ripped a phone off of a wall. Police arrested a 42-year-old man. Charges are being forwarded to Crown Counsel.

A purse containing cash, hairbrush, flashlight, and medication was stolen from a school after regular hours on October 7th.

Warrants were issued for a 31-year-old woman and a 54-year-old woman.

Concerns over the drug use of a family member. Police spoke with a person.

A low flying helicopter flew over a house, twice, with intent to cause a grand mal seizure. Police spoke with a man and advised him of the search of a missing woman that more than likely was the low flying helicopter and there was no criminal intent to cause a dire medical occurrence.

Suspicious person spoke with a woman's boyfriend while she was in the shower. Police spoke with the woman.

False residential alarm on Westview Dr.

Intoxicated woman on Park Ave./Sparks St. Checks were done of the area.

Fire on Sparks St. Investigation determined there was a mechanical failure that started the fire. The truck was burnt beyond repair. The home was minimally damaged.

False business alarm on Agar Ave.

911 hang up call from an inactive cell phone. Numerous checks were done of various locations. Nobody was found in need of police help.

Familial dispute. Checks determined that the two combatants had warrants for their arrest. Police arrested a 14-year-old boy on a warrant out of Hazelton. He is held for court. Police arrested a 15-year-old boy on a warrant out of Prince George.

Thornhill

Police pulled over a 1998 Dodge Caravan on River Dr. The 52-year-old driver advised members that he was a Freeman of the Land and did not need to adhere to laws. His vehicle did not have insurance and was towed.

A blue 1994 Ford Mustang was pulled over on Hwy 16/Hwy 37. The 35-year-old driver was served a prohibition notice.

A small truck and a car driving crazy on Clark St./Thornhill Frontage Rd. A grey 2011 Ford Fiesta matching the description provided was pulled over in the area and a 26-year-old driver was spoken with.

Rural

A man attended the front counter of the detachment to yell obscenities, provide written obscenities, and threaten staff and police. The 35-year-old man was arrested.

False medical alarm on Kroyer St.

Kitsumkalum

Glasses were stolen right off the head of a girl getting off the bus. Under investigation.
