Man found deceased in wooded area south of Terrace

Police do not believe criminality was involved in death

The body of a deceased male was discovered by a woman out mushroom picking south of Terrace on Oct. 1, said the RCMP in a media release.

According to the Oct. 6, police statement, the woman came across the body in a wooded area near Jack Talstra Way and Hwy 37. The man did not appear to be breathing and the woman called police.

BC Emergency Health Services attended the scene along with Terrace RCMP and confirmed the man was deceased. There were no signs of injuries.

The man was found with a bag of mushrooms and some personal items.

Police do not suspect any criminality in the incident and believe the death was the result of medical issues.

The BC Coroners Service is conducting its own investigation into the death. Police say they will not identify the man, and no further information on the incident is available.
